Creator of Step into Your Moxie® and Women’s Leadership Expert

Dubbed a “Moxie Maven” by the White House Office of Public Engagement for her unique and effective approach to communication and leadership development, Alexia Vernon is the founder and CEO of Step into Your Moxie. A certified woman-owned and disability-owned business, Step into Your Moxie ensures that leaders and their employees possess the mindset, skillset, and psychological safety to speak up and call people to take action on their ideas. Alexia’s “secret sauce” is showing her audiences how to be present with the discomfort that often emerges when navigating uncomfortable conversations, speaking on stage, or being interviewed by the media.

Since winning the Miss Junior America competition, Alexia has delivered transformational keynotes and programs for Fortune 500 companies like Google, AWS, and PACCAR, as well as healthcare and educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, professional associations, and the United Nations. Alexia is a TEDxWomen speaker and has contributed to media such as CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS,,,, European Business Review, and Women’s Health Magazine.

A global expert on vocal empowerment and creating “speak up” cultures, Alexia is the author of multiple books including the award-winning, Step into Your Moxie: Amplify Your Voice, Visibility, and Influence in the World. She is the creator of the popular LinkedIn Learning course, Communicating to Drive People to Take Action, and is a proud (and vocal!) thyroid cancer and sexual abuse survivor.
